National Night Out 2016 Press Conference Trenton NJ

National Night Out 2016

National Night Out 2016 takes place on Tuesday August 2, 2016.  Trenton NJ will again be a part of this national celebration.

“National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, better places to live.”

Over 100 people gathered for this evenings press conference including members of Mayor Eric Jackson’s Cabinet, Trenton Police, Trenton Fire and Emergency Services, City Council, Civic Associations, supporting departments, various Faith Centers and a diverse population of residents from toddler age to our “seasoned” women and men.

Attendees heard brief statements from Trenton Police Director Ernest Parrey, Councilwomen Verlina Reynolds-Jackson, Marge Caldwell-Wilson, Congresswoman Bonnie Watson-Coleman and Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo Onofri.  Mayor Jackson encouraged all attendees to “be better by putting differences away and to work together to make Trenton an example of what a Capital City can be!”

A raffle/drawing and one participating organization from each of the four Wards won a an inflatable prize.  Det. Alexis Durlacher is the contact person and will have information for the winning organizations.

Light refreshments of water and cake were available as well as t-shirts for the registered participating organizations.

The press conference also included an impromptu singing of “Happy Birthday” to Mayor Jackson.

Franklin Park is a participating location and I encourage you to visit with your friends, families and neighbors.  More information is available on the City of Trenton’s website.
